Common Goldfish
Scientific Name: Carassius auratus
origin: China, Bred from silver-gray wild carp into dozens of breeds (like Common, Oranda, and Fantail)
Appearance: Common, Comet, and Shubunkin goldfish have long, flat bodies built for fast swimming, reaching lengths up to 12–16 inches
Lifespan: 10–15 years in aquariums, but up to 30+ years in ponds
Tank Size: 20 to 30 gallons for the first fish, plus 10–20 gallons for each additional fish.
Temperature: 60°F to 72°F
Temperament / Behavior: "friendly" towards each other
Tank Mates: best kept with other goldfish or peaceful cold-water fish. Avoid housing them with tropical fish or aggressive specie
