Temperament / Behavior: Oscars will often lay claim to an area of the aquarium and will be very aggressive towards other fish encroaching on their newly established territory inside the aquarium

Tank Mates: Suitable tank mates for a Red Oscar must be large enough not to be eaten and hardy enough to handle an Oscar's boisterous, messy nature. Excellent options include peaceful, large South American cichlids (like Severums), robust schooling fish, Silver Dollars, and bottom-dwelling catfish, Plecos, Pictus, or Synodontis
