Koi Angelfish 5" Breeding Pair
(Pterophyllum scalare) are stunning, vividly colored South American cichlids known for their marbled orange, black, and white patterns. At a 5" size, they are considered large or "XL" adults.
Minimum Tank Size: 40 to 55 gallons (with a tall vertical profile is best).
Temperature: 76°F to 84°F (24°C to 29°C).
Water Parameters: Slightly acidic to neutral pH (6.5–7.5), soft to moderately hard water.
Temperament: Peaceful in a community, but can become semi-aggressive or territorial when breeding or if kept in cramped space
Because they have long, elegant fins, they should not be kept with fin-nipping fish (like tiger barbs) or overly aggressive/large cichlids like Oscars. Good tank mates for a 5" angel include
Peaceful schooling tetras, Corydoras catfish small plecos, peaceful dwarf cichlids (German blue rams, apistogramma)
