Scientific Name: Epalzeorhynchos frenatum

origin: Thailand, Indonesia

Appearance: Despite their name and its connotations, sharks are semi peaceful and live best in a community aquarium with fish of the same disposition. In fact, they are not really sharks and actually belong to the minnow family. It is their upright dorsal fin that gives them a shark-like appearance.

Lifespan: 5 - 8 years

Tank Size: 75+ gallon

Temperature: 75°F - 80°F (24°C - 27°C)

Temperament / Behavior: This fish can become aggressive with other, smaller fish in your tank that invade its territory. Provide plenty of hiding places (caves, rocks and plants)

Tank Mates: Because of their temperament it is a good idea to house them with similar sized fish. Do not keep with other Rainbow sharks without large tank size and many hiding spots.
