a popular, man-made hybrid freshwater cichlid. It is typically a crossbreed between a Convict Cichlid and a Blood Parrot (or Honduran Red Point). Aquarists prize them for their metallic electric blue colors, compact rounded bodies, and highly interactive personalities.

Size & Lifespan: They stay relatively compact, reaching an adult size of about 3 to 5 inches, and have a lifespan of 5 to 8 years.

Tank Size: A single pair can live comfortably in a 40-gallon tank.

Temperament: Highly extroverted and intelligent, they are known to recognize their owners. However, they inherit the territorial, semi-aggressive traits of their Convict lineage.

Tank Mates: Because of their feisty nature, it is best to avoid keeping them with very small, peaceful fish like guppies or tetras. They do well with similarly sized, robust tank mates such as angelfish, gouramis, or bristlenose plecos.

Water Parameters: They thrive in water temperatures between 73 - 80 with a pH level ranging from 6.5 - 8.0
