Appearance: Features a stunning pearl-gray or olive base covered in iridescent, pearlescent turquoise or blue-green speckles. Mature males develop a prominent hump on their forehead. 12 inches in length
Lifespan: 10 years
Tank Size: 100+ gallons
Temperature: 68°F to 75°F, pH 7.0
Temperament / Behavior: They are highly territorial, aggressive, and notorious for digging up plants and rearranging substrate
Tank Mates: Because of their aggressive nature, they should only be housed with similar-sized, equally robust Central American cichlids or left in a species-only tank
